Your safari begins with pick-up in Arusha, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most beautiful parks and a favorite for travelers looking for a quieter safari experience. Tarangire is especially known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and wide-open landscapes that create a truly classic African safari atmosphere.
Upon arrival, you will begin your game drive and have the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and several antelope species. The park is also home to predators such as lions and leopards, though sightings depend on the day and season. As you explore the park, you will notice how different Tarangire feels from other destinations, with its peaceful setting and distinctive scenery.
After the game drive, you will head to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of safari. Often described as one of Africa’s natural wonders, the crater offers one of the best wildlife viewing experiences in Tanzania because of its high concentration of animals within a relatively compact area.
As you drive down into the crater, you will be welcomed by stunning views and a rich variety of habitats, including open grasslands, swamps, forests, and a soda lake. This makes the crater an excellent place to see many different animals in a single day. You may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, jackals, and if you are lucky, even the rare black rhino.
The Ngorongoro Crater is especially attractive for travelers who want a strong chance of seeing the Big Five in a short time. During your safari, you will stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the crater before continuing your game drive in the afternoon.
Later in the day, you will ascend from the crater and drive to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, you will continue to Lake Manyara National Park for your final day of safari. Though smaller than Tarangire and Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara offers a completely different feel, with lush groundwater forests, open plains, and the beautiful lake itself attracting a variety of birdlife.
This park is known for its scenic beauty and diverse habitats, which support animals such as elephants, baboons, giraffes, hippos, zebras, and buffaloes. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are never guaranteed. For bird lovers, the park can be especially rewarding, with flamingos and many other bird species often seen around the lake.
You will enjoy a game drive through the park, taking in its rich scenery and wildlife before beginning your journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or preferred location, marking the end of your safari.
