7 Days Northern Circuit Safari & Culture

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with pick-up in Arusha, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is one of the most rewarding parks on Tanzania’s Northern Circuit and is especially loved for its giant baobab trees, scenic landscapes, and large elephant herds. After arriving at the park, you will begin your first game drive and enjoy the beauty of this peaceful wilderness area. Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. The journey takes you through changing landscapes and gradually opens into the endless plains that have made the Serengeti famous around the world. Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to a full day of game drives in the Serengeti. This gives you time to explore the vast plains more deeply and enjoy a fuller safari experience without rushing. A full day in the Serengeti means more opportunities to observe wildlife activity, follow different routes, and take in the scale and beauty of the landscape.

You may see lion prides resting in the grass, cheetahs scanning the plains, elephants moving across the savannah, and herds of zebras and wildebeests grazing in the distance. One of the great strengths of Serengeti is not just the number of animals, but the feeling of being surrounded by open wilderness in every direction. Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti before continuing toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is still part of the safari experience, and it gives you another chance to enjoy the plains and wildlife of Serengeti before moving into a very different landscape.

As you approach Ngorongoro, the scenery begins to change from open grasslands to cooler highland surroundings. This area is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable destinations because it combines wildlife, dramatic natural scenery, and living culture. Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Today adds a different side of Tanzania to your journey. After days of wildlife viewing, you will enjoy a cultural experience that gives you insight into local life, traditions, and community. Tanzania officially promotes cultural travel as one of its core visitor experiences, highlighting communities such as the Maasai and Chagga as part of the country’s living heritage.

Depending on your exact program and location, this day may include a visit to a Maasai community area or a cultural experience around Mto wa Mbu, where travelers can gain a closer look at daily life, local crafts, food, and traditions. This part of the journey gives the safari more balance by adding human connection to the wildlife experience. It also offers a slower, more grounded day after several long game drives.

You will have time to explore, interact, and learn before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Return to Arusha

After breakfast, you will begin the drive back to Arusha. Depending on your schedule, this final day offers time to relax, reflect on the journey, and enjoy the changing scenery as you leave the safari circuit behind.

On arrival in Arusha, you will be dropped off at your hotel or preferred location, marking the end of your 7-day Northern Circuit Safari & Culture experience.
